I am amazed at the pace at which Google is launching new products (read ideas) which are simple, intuitive and highly useful. I have become a fan of Google just like any one who is bored with Microsoft and its cosmetic changes to well-worn-out products. One cant wait to see what will be the next Google launch. I tried the latest from their stable and the experience is WOW.
A database of satellite images with every inch on the ground mapped. Key in your street and locality, you can see the images of your House down to the car and the front porch. Though the Beta version is more an experience creation for the keen, it makes serious business proposition. Bring the images on to a Handheld and any new visitor can find their way in a new city by paying a small fee. Media and Social Service Organization can assess the damages from calamities and terrorist strikes. Computer game companies can create localized games with real screen shots.
The Google Sidebar is a new innovation. In one glance, you can see latest mail, news, Web articles and so on. The scratch pad is the closest you can get to a physical one. Type anything and it saves. The search engine is a delight. An improvised search function from the Desktop 1, the new version can search PDFs, mail and many more. The results will appear just as you start typing from every source on your desktop.
