Chart Advisor is a neat add-in to Excel 2007. Often times we are not sure which chart to use when presenting excel data. Will a bar-chart be better or a pie-chart?. Chart advisor takes the guess work out of the trial and error work. Once the data is ready the chart advisor will automatically analyze data and present all possible chart options ranking them from the best to the worst. It uses an internal rules engine to determine which chart is the best for a particular data set. Then we can modify the chart and extract the chart. Simple and effective.
Speaking of the Excel issues, Excel 2007 seems to have made it difficult to create 2-axis charts. Excel 2003 used to have a seperate chart option to create 2-axis chart; useful when presenting data coloumns with large variations like sales numbers and sales experience Vs each sales employee. Excel 2007 actually lets the users create 2-axis chart but in a round about way. Watch this you tube video on creating 2-axis excel charts
