More than what meets the eye : Fascinating Google experiment on eye tracking
What exactly are you doing when you visit a website. Are you looking at the pictures or the text. Are you scanning bottom-up or top-down? Google is experimenting with new studies to track the movement of eye(s) on web page. Here is a video showing how a participant is scanning a Google search results web page. The video is in real time and the bigger size dots mean the eye is spending time on that part of the page. Very fascinating and a marketer’s dream! It will be interesting to see if the surfers will allow the marketers to track even their eye movement. (What else is left. May be mind mapping will be the next)
